The 20-meter x 5-meter infinity pool extends four meters beyond the existing hotel building, offering a unique swimming experience. From the edge of the infinity pool, you can look out over the Hallenberg Valley and enjoy the rising sun – pure romance. Around the pool, you will find a cozy spot where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful weather in the Hochsauerland region – both in the shade and in the sun.

As a wellness hotel with an outdoor pool, it is a summer destination.

We love what we do. Our hotel, our everyday life, our region. The Sauerland is particularly popular with many guests for wellness vacations in winter. Images of snow-covered landscapes quickly come to mind. Nothing fits better than a relaxing break in the warmth. Gaze out from the heated outdoor pool into the cool of winter, enjoy the pleasant heat in the sauna, or dine to the crackling sound of the fireplace. Yes, the Sauerland is almost perfect for a wellness vacation in winter.

However, what many people don't know is that it is also beautiful here during the warmer months.

Here in the Hochsauerland region, there are many lush green meadows where horses, sheep, and cows graze contentedly. There are gentle mountains that can sometimes be strenuous to climb, but which offer wonderful views of the Sauerland from many places. Hiking trails crisscross the landscape and give an impression of the diversity of the region. There are lakes all around, such as the Edertalsperre, the Hillebachsee, and the Weddelsee. Each has its own attractions—water sports, idyllic fishing, beaches, or picturesque shores. There are sights, monuments, and lively culture. Just think of the open-air stage, where the Passion of Christ is performed every ten years, the small ice museum, or the Kump with its interesting exhibitions in the city center. Despite all this, the Hochsauerland is still an insider tip for a relaxing wellness vacation in summer.

Your wellness vacation at a hotel with heated indoor and outdoor pools

At DIEDRICH Wellnesshotel & Spa, the hotel focuses on wellness, so relaxing moments are the order of the day—exactly as you feel best. For this reason, our wellness hotel offers various places to retreat, cozy corners, and lots to discover.

The wellness area includes a light-flooded indoor pool, which is somewhat reminiscent of a Roman thermal bath and which we therefore affectionately refer to as the column bath. On two levels around the indoor pool, you can choose your favorite lounger and relax here while enjoying the view outside.

Interplay between cold and heat

In addition to the swimming pool, the sauna area includes a Finnish panorama sauna with a large window, another Finnish sauna, a steam bath, a tecaldarium, a Swiss stone pine sauna also with a view of the outdoors, and our snow grotto, where you can cool off perfectly—ideal on hot days or after a sweaty sauna session. Here you can experience every temperature in a new way. There is also a large lounge area between sauna sessions and a relaxation area where you can enjoy the reflections of the water in the pool above through a round glass peephole. An incomparable feeling of space that has a calming effect with its gentleness. The heated outdoor pool is probably the most striking feature of our wellness area. Here you can relax and enjoy the moment on hot summer days. The pool is heated, so the water temperature of the infinity pool is always pleasant and invites you to swim in the heated water all year round.

Pamper your body – actively and passively

Interplay between movement and relaxation

Exercise—or at least the opportunity to exercise—is also part of a wellness vacation. Work out in our fitness room, take part in yoga or meditation classes in our Haus der Mitte, or enjoy the fitness facilities in the large fitness room. All course rooms are bright and have windows, so you can be motivated by the sun during your morning workout or enjoy the colorful twilight in the evening.

Of course, you can still pamper your body with a treatment. Whether it's a relaxing massage, a soothing facial treatment, or an Ayurvedic ritual, you'll find it easy to enjoy the moment and take a break from everyday life. In our treatments, we use natural cosmetics that are good for your body in the long term.

Cuisine is one of our strengths

Delicious food is also an essential part of your vacation in the Hochsauerland region. Take a seat in our restaurant, which is divided into different areas. Discover the "Alte Post," "Poststübchen," or "Antons" areas, all of which are decorated in earthy tones. We serve our half-board menu in the cozy Stammhaus Restaurant. Fine cuisine—and the desire to satisfy the culinary wishes of our guests—has always been a high priority for us. Whether with friends, buddies, or during a romantic dinner with your loved one, we do everything we can to make you feel completely at home.
