For beginners, there is the Bike Arena Sauerland route – from Hallenberg to Galgenberg – covering 20 km through the fields of the Hochsauerland region. Beautiful! Those who would like a little motor assistance can get started with e-bikes. And those who are professionals can simply ride to Winterberg.

Nuhnetal Cycle Route from Hallenberg to Lake Eder
Cycle along the idyllic Nuhne river to the beautiful Edersee lake. The 30 km route starts in Winterberg-Züschen.
Your first destination: Hallenberg. As a guest of the DIEDRICH Wellnesshotel & Spa, it makes sense to start here. Ride along the "Aue" (cycle path R49) towards the Nuhnewiesen nature reserve. The tour continues along the former railway line and the Nuhnewiesen nature trail, taking you through enchanting countryside to Allendorf/Eder. There you will reach the Eder Cycle Path, one of the top cycle paths in Germany, which accompanies the Eder for 180 km from the Siegerland to its confluence with the Fulda. The path takes you to the 12 km² Edersee lake. How about a swim before cycling back to Hallenberg?

More than 1,700 kilometers of bike paths...the Bike Arena Sauerland consists of a huge network of trails, and Hallenberg is connected to it with mountain bike and road bike tours. The routes have been analyzed by the German Sport University Cologne and classified as blue (easy), red (moderate), and black (difficult).
