Just break out of the rut—and reconnect with yourself
It doesn’t always have to be a long vacation. Sometimes three nights are enough—nights when no one needs anything from you: no phone calls, no appointments, no tasks running in the background. That’s exactly the idea behind “Raus aus dem Trott”: a wellness getaway in the Sauerland for anyone who wants to take a short break without having to book a sabbatical. Three nights are short enough to treat yourself to them. And long enough for your mind to truly switch off—usually not until the second day, when you stop thinking about what needs to be done at home. At DIEDRICH, you’ll experience these days at an adults-only hotel for guests 16 and older—quiet, mature, without children’s laughter by the pool. This isn’t a judgment, just a conscious choice: If you want to break out of the rut, you don’t want new chaos.
A Sensory Experience — A Way to Wind Down
A particularly harmonious way to kick off your getaway is “Rendezvous of the Senses”—a luxurious, 90-minute treatment experience. It begins with a warm foot bath, followed by a facial treatment that includes cleansing, exfoliation, and massage, a nourishing hand and foot wrap, and concludes with eye and lip care. Not a single treatment, but a sequence that allows you to unwind step by step. Many guests experience this as the moment when their getaway shifts: before, it was still a journey; after, it is relaxation. You can find the exact sequence on the page for the “Rendezvous of the Senses” treatment.

Classic Massage — When Hands Know Where to Go
Our second recommendation is, quite intentionally, the most familiar one: the classic massage, available in 50- or 75-minute sessions. Anyone who has ever made it to our massage table after long weeks at a desk knows this: you don’t always need a new approach. Shoulders, neck, back—the areas where the stresses of daily life tend to build up are almost always the same. Our therapists work calmly, skillfully, and without a fixed routine. What feels right one day may be different the next. Request your massage when you book your room—either on its own or as part of a series of treatments spread out over your stay: targeted touch, repeated, and carefully measured.
Half-board in the evening — Enjoyment without the hassle
Part of taking a break means not having to organize anything in the evening. The price includes a four-course meal and a generous breakfast buffet—no need to search for a restaurant, call for a reservation, or pore over a menu where everything “sounds good” but nothing really appeals. You come straight from the spa to the set table and are served. Our kitchen uses regional ingredients and follows a philosophy we deliberately keep simple—a dinner that nourishes rather than preoccupies. Those who wish can eat vegetarian or vegan; those who wish can retire to their rooms early.
