Dealing with guests is part of daily life, and communication and sales skills help. If you are good at organizing and like to lend a hand, this is the right profession for you. Foreign languages are an advantage.
Specialist for gastronomy (m/f/d)
Catering specialists have mastered the basics of catering: they greet and advise guests, serve drinks and food, and cash up. Specialists are the face and voice of their establishment to guests. Their job is to create the guest experience, to be friendly and knowledgeable advisors, salespeople and caretakers. To this end, they also learn the basics about food and its use in gastronomy in the kitchen and everything important about the design and maintenance of guest rooms in the business service.
The apprenticeship to become a catering specialist lasts only two years. After successful completion, training companies and trainees can agree to continue the training. It is then still possible to obtain a degree as a specialist for restaurants and event catering.

Further training opportunities after successful completion of training:
Those who want to develop their skills further can still follow an apprenticeship to become a specialist for restaurants and event catering or a specialist for system catering and thus advance further. But all further training courses are also open to catering specialists.
