Catering specialist (m/f/d) Training

Two-year dual training program with one to two days of vocational school instruction per week. Open and friendly people who enjoy working in a team are particularly well suited to the hospitality industry. Dealing with guests is part of everyday life, so communication and sales skills are helpful. If you are well organized and enjoy getting stuck in, this is the right profession for you. Foreign languages are an advantage. Catering specialists have a command of the basics of the catering trade: they welcome and advise guests, serve food and drinks, and take payments. These professionals are the face and voice of their business to guests. Their job is to shape the guest experience and be friendly and knowledgeable advisors, salespeople, and caretakers. To do this, they also learn the basics of food and its use in the restaurant industry in the kitchen, as well as everything important about designing and maintaining guest rooms in the housekeeping department.

Training to become a catering specialist takes only two years. After successful completion, training companies and trainees can agree to continue the training. It is then possible to obtain a qualification as a restaurant and event catering specialist.
