Sauna Sauerland in a 4-star superior wellness hotel, Hochsauerland, near Winterberg
The sauna area at the DIEDRICH Wellnesshotel & Spa includes a total of five saunas, a snow grotto, and a relaxation area. The Swiss stone pine sauna and the large Finnish sauna provide warming moments of well-being, while you look out directly onto nature through large windows. Here, it is easy to forget everyday life for a few moments as you feel the pleasant heat on your body and relax while looking out at the vibrant greenery. For all sauna-goers who prefer it a little cooler, the smaller Finnish sauna with gentler temperatures is ideal. A steam bath is also waiting to be discovered by you. The difference between this and the Finnish sauna is the temperature and humidity. The steam bath has low temperatures of 40–50 °C, but the humidity is much higher. In the sauna, on the other hand, you experience a drier heat. The Tecaldarium, the Roman sweat bath, is also an experience for all the senses. Here, different senses are actively addressed. You will experience colored light, pleasant sounds, and soothing scents. Thanks to the snow grotto, you can now also treat yourself to a cool refreshment in the middle of the sauna. Snow falls here all year round, providing a pleasant cooling experience of a different kind. From the relaxation area, you can look directly into the sky through the pool water. The large viewing window in the sauna's relaxation area offers fascinating light effects while you feel your body and find complete peace. From the sauna area, you also have direct access to the outdoor area, where you can enjoy the moment in the fresh air.

Sauerland sauna area with swimming pool, relaxation area, and bathrobe bistro
In addition to the attractive sauna area, the wellness area at the DIEDRICH Wellnesshotel & Spa in Hallenberg near Winterberg has even more to offer. Various areas ensure that relaxation comes quickly. These include a large outdoor infinity pool, a light-flooded indoor pool, the stylish "Zeitlos" relaxation area, the fitness room, the "Haus der Mitte" (House of the Middle) and our trained spa team, who will pamper you with a soothing massage, for example. The architecture of the swimming pool is reminiscent of a Roman columned bath. While you linger in the pleasantly temperate water of the swimming pool, you can also let your gaze wander through nature. Huge panoramic windows make this possible. An adventure pool for all the senses. Proximity to nature is an important element in the wellness area, which runs like a common thread throughout. For this reason, wood is used as a material in many places. In the "Zeitlos" relaxation area, you will experience a very special atmosphere. Comfortable loungers invite you to snuggle up while you let your thoughts drift and listen to the soothing sounds of nature. If exercise is part of your relaxation, you can either work out on your own in the fitness room or take part in a class in our "Haus der Mitte" (House of the Middle). Various activities such as yoga, meditation, and Pilates are offered here daily, which you can also find in the course schedule. Relaxation often makes you hungry. You can refuel at any time in our bathrobe bistro. Delicious snacks—from tarte flambée to fresh salads—await you.
