Neighboring Winterberg is the most famous winter sports resort north of the Alps. Its popular ski lift carousel is just 14 kilometers from Hallenberg. In addition to the famous St. Georg ski jump, there are smaller ski jumping facilities as well as numerous pistes and cross-country ski trails.
