Cook (m/f/d) Training

Three-year dual training program with one to two days of vocational school instruction per week. People who are skilled with their hands and creative, and who enjoy working in a team, are particularly well suited to working in the kitchen. Daily life is characterized by working with a wide variety of foods and processing them. A keen sense of taste, attention to detail, and culinary curiosity are helpful in this regard. Time pressure is common in the kitchen, so stress resistance and a certain level of physical fitness are advantageous. Chefs are true connoisseurs. Their core tasks involve preparing dishes and menus. To this end, they learn all the important working techniques and interesting facts about food – from meat and fish to plant-based cuisine and desserts. Cooking is both a craft and an art. But cooking is not the end of the story. Chefs are professionals in all processes and planning in and around the kitchen, including purchasing, storage, and menu creation. They organize the kitchen and work collegially with the service staff. Quality and guest wishes are the measure of all things.
